The North Ayrshire coast has a plethora of activities to keep even the most discerning tourist occupied. With islands to explore, boat trips, cycle paths, links golf courses and of course some of the world's finest inshore waters for sailing, there is never time to be bored.
Ferries take you from Ardrossan to Arran, known as Scotland in miniature; to the Island of Cumbrae from Largs; or a few miles further up the coast to Wemyss Bay where you can get a ferry to Rothesay and the Isle of Bute; or Gourock, a ten minute drive away where you can catch a ferry to Dunoon and the Cowal Peninsula.
A number of companies operate on this stretch of water offering sailing and exhilarating fast rib trips around the area. Courses can also be taken to obtain recognised qualifications for sailing and cruising and organised fishing trips are available in good weather.
